Positive Parenting

If you’re a Muslim mother yearning to build long lasting and loving connections with your children, positive Islamic parenting can help you!

In these posts, I help you learn why harsh or permissive parenting methods don’t work. In fact, those methods will drive distance between you and your child! This is why positive respectful parenting is the way forward.

Many Muslims will have grown up experiencing harsh parenting as children, such as punishments, threats or shaming. Now, as parents ourselves, we often fall into one of three camps:

  1. We repeat the harsh parenting we experienced ourselves to our children without realising.
  2. We overcompensate for our upbringing by giving and doing everything for our children and being permissive.
  3. We recognise our parenting needs work and want to do better for our children and ourselves.

If you’re in the third camp, you’re in the right place!

My whole purpose with Salaam Mummy is to support Muslim mums to learn how to parent effectively – with love, respect, kindness and boundaries, rooted firmly in Islam.

This section is full of information, tips and advice on how to parent with the child and Allah in mind, so that your family life can be full of peace, contentment, purpose and barakah insha’Allah. Enjoy x
